Normally you fit Winter wheels and tyres
My XC90 has 20" Summer wheels and 17" Winter wheels, with corresponding tyre sizes so that the diameter is the same.
The Winter wheels and tyres are narrower for better traction in snow, and also offer a nicer ride than the Summer wheels due to the larger sidewalls
