I'm happy now I've made up little boxes that close off the box section again and give the structure a bit more rigidity

I think that's a very good idea - I didn't want to suggest it myself cos you've just bought the reels but seriously when racing you'll be needing a better system so why play about with the reels?

That is indeed a 4 speed beauty
