Haven't watched the video so don't know if this is mentioned. Spray the muslin with silicone to help the cover slide down.
Rubberised elastic webbing from a local furniture upholstery shop is cheap and good. They will have a Pirelli substitute too but as said there is no need for that. Available on eBay as well if needed.
