Got a new belt today, its a gates again, they had no other brands.
It was a pain to replace, very very tight fitting (more tight than the last one).But it seems to work as it should again,steering pump also has no damage.
But the slapping belt had made a mess of the sound insulation besides the belt and a hole in the cap around the belt over the steering pump.
And i noticed very small belt parts in the groves of the steering pump pulley.
Are there any material differences between the cam belt and serpentine belt?
What is the official replacing interval of these belts?
