Today I finished my PCV cleaning
The worst part was trying to remove the EGR valve so I could access the bolt to the oil separator box. Both of the nuts on the valve were well rusted up and despite spraying them every night with penetrating oil I could not budge them
More spraying and huffing and puffing and I eventually got them off. I suspect the valve has never been off the car in its 23 year lifetime. I also removed the metal pipe that goes to the inlet manifold to make life easier.
I didn't think the separator box was overly clogged but lots of sludge and gunk came out so worth the effort
Fitted a new box and O ring and bolted everything back together
Took her for a spin with a little Italian warm up included ( when fully warmed up ! ) and she is running really well.
Pulling like a train
So that's all hoses cleaned a couple of pcv hose sections replaced. The definitely not a flame trap, flame trap, nipple, crud filled elbow cleaned and a new separator box fitted.
I'm hoping that I wont have to all again for another 125k
