Default clock bezel removal for a turbo , real Blue Peter stuff?

Ok, this all started as a kid when I saw a Saab99 Turbo with that boost gauge pod on the dash top.Fast forward on a few decades and it is perfect period stuff for our 265. I've even bought a genuine pod from a Saab enthusiast.
Next step is the boost gauge. I have saved one from the donor 740 turbo that I pulled the engine from in the sleet before the lockdown.
I can adapt the 740 gauge to fit in an old 240 clock-the round sort, standard 52 mm thing.
Problem is how to get the bezel off the clock without massacring it? I have a couple of not too precious clocks that I can cannibalise. Possibly cut through the body and collapse it so the bezel can pop off unmarked?How to get it back on though?

Of course, I could just buy a nice ebay gauge that packs up after ten miles, but Id prefer to stick with decent Volvo stuff.
Any ideas, please?
