My Volvo has an EFB type battery, while our Kia has an AGM. Due to limited usage I'm regularly using a smart charger to keep them topped up and a different charger setting is needed for the two different battery types. So I don't see how you can simply 'upgrade' your EFB to an AGM type without somehow altering the vehicle charging system.
