I have the same issue with my '08 V70 (MkIII) - the carpet trim on the underside of the tailgate gets wet - saturated if the rain is heavy enough. I thought originally that it was a problem with backdraft spray, but this happens when the car is stationary.
I bought (on 19th October) the suggested sealing strip from Amazon, then noticed that the delivery date was 6th to 15th November! So I got a similar one off eBay that was delivered in three days.
Fitted it as per picture and it certainly stops water getting in below the hinges, but has not stopped the wet trim on the bottom of the tailgate.
Topper: did you have your rear screen re-sealed, or did replacing the aperture covers under the light clusters solve the problem on its own?
