Is decreasing the driver's responsibility the way forward??

Some in here complain about having to switch lights on when they drive a car with no DLR's. Is it really that hard??
Oh I agree that the issue's faced on roads are a lot wider and decreasing driver responsibility is definitely not the way forward, but with the onwards march of technology such as anti-stall, parking sensors, lane assist, ABS, collision sensing etc, I think the inevitable will happen of driver skill deteriorating, more reliance on the car's systems to drive from A-B and more complacency thinking the car will do it all for you.

You hear about the American who put his RV in cruise control and went in back to make a cuppa thinking it would drive itself. Then blamed the RV when it crashed on a bend!!
