Dude, like anything...all depends how far you want to go and what you want to achieve...
imo you will never get a decent handling 940 until you lose the standard 55 profile tyres as they are the first problem. a good compromise if you can't afford 17" wheels id to come down to a 50 profile for now...
Check all the bushes as they are usually shot and replace with either stock new or urethane...
IPD ARB's are a must pretty much. As for shocks n springs most people tend to go for a Bilstein damper and a 40 mm lowering spring. i am using BC BR series coilovers which i personally love.
It is also a good idea to strengthen the subframe as this is a weak point in the 930, or replace it...there are a few aftermarket solutions....
