It's been a while, but the car was parked level for around 3 hours yesterday evening, so I made some oil level checks... e-dipstick showed 'max', however the Car Scanner app showed only 25.68mm. The engine was probably still quite warm as it had been driven at motorway speeds for around an hour before being parked.

According to VIDA 2014d data provided in post #16 of this thread by @piotrek (copied below) this level is below the quoted normal range of 27-49mm and almost down to the 25mm trigger point for the yellow warning 'add 0.5L' message.

Can anyone please confirm whether the threshold values have been recently revised?

Engine oil level (mm)
The value regards the current oil level. The signal comes from the directly connected engine oil level sensor which provides information about the oil level in the engine's oil pan.

Measurement range: 0 – 65 mm.
Normal value: 27 - 49 mm, which corresponds to a total oil volume of 4.4 - 5.2 litres (+ 0.4 litre in the filter).

Note! The levels above apply if the oil temperature is approximately 20°C. At 50°C corresponding volumes are 4.3 – 5.1 litres. At 80°C corresponding volumes are 4.2 – 5.0 litres. After oil service/oil change the level must be 38 mm. After filling the engine must first be started, to fill the oil filter with oil, then the oil must be allowed to run back down into the oil pan. See specifications - Lubricant, engine for exact volumes for oil service.

Note! The vehicle must be located on a level surface and with the engine off for a while so that the read out value is reliable. The time depends on the current oil temperature as hot oil runs down into the trough quicker than cold oil. The longer the engine is off, the more reliable the value from the sensor is. If the oil temperature is below 80°C read off after 5 minutes minimum.

Hint:
The oil level 25 mm (4.2 litres + 0.4 litres in the filter) corresponds to the limit for low oil (yellow information lamp) and 18 mm (3.9 litres + 0.4 litres in the filter) corresponds to the limit for critical low oil level (red information lamp). The oil level 51 mm (5.4 litres + 0.4 litres in the filter) corresponds to the limit for high oil level (red warning lamp). The limits apply at an oil temperature of 20°C.

Note! The value from the sensor is updated with a new value every ten seconds.
