I drive a 2018 XC60 T5 which I get 25-30mpg around town, which isnt great but its a big heavy and powerful car, if I keep my foot off the floor (which isnt easy) I may get 30 + around town. But on a run mainly motorway I get 38-40 mpg (as 70mph Honest officer).
I have to say I find that more than OK I had a 1.4 TSI Skoda Superb before this and the numbers weren't much better.
But I only do about 8k per year so it doesn't make much difference in annual cost and it is much nicer to drive and a whole lot quicker and more fun.
