A re visit to this thread. And thanks again for ALL the people who have replied.

The car did about 400 miles in the last twelve months.

This year's MOT was rather a saga. The helpful garage failed the car on the known rust under the rear bumper. Last year that tester told me rust in that area was not relevant. Anyway another tester passed the car. The second garage got two testers to look because they knew they were disagreeing with the first garage. Both testers at the second garage said it was just not an area subject to test.

In the process of the MOT saga I found a bodyshop and the long worried about rust is booked in for attention this month. I am welcome to visit and see the work in progress, if I can arrange transport of course.

The second garage for MOT have replaced my exhaust behind the cat. They got in a bit of a faf about the rear mountings. But that was quickly sorted.

The car is sound. It does what I need. I'm still thinking of doing the cambelt myself next year. Because I want to. And because at the same time I change the thermostat, coolant, hoses including pesky heater hoses, ancillary belts &c. But it's a month of work and I have so much to do and so much on my mind. Apart from that I have one particular job on the car in mind. Also maybe next year.

A lot will depend on health, important things in and around the house, what develops re the car, and whether I can find a garage to trust plus justify paying out all the outgoings to do such a low mileage. Having the car does mean I can go to some countryside places occasionally that I would not get to otherwise. And I can get some things done to and around the house....working slowly.

I'm rabitting on. Sorry. I'm rather sad tonight because I've had to cancel meeting a forum member this week. I was going to hand over some 240 parts to him. Sorry but as I said by email it is my health.

Tomorrow is another day.

Stephen.
