The grandfather right weights are handbook, the since 1997 are V5 if it's on there. At age 70 grandfather rights are removed unless you take a class 2 hgv medical to retain them. My thoughts if I have to take the medical I may as well get a class 2 licence and a 38 tonne train capasity as 3500 will see me unable to tow the caravan with either the volvo or landrover without the grandfather rights.
