That's worth knowing, on the timing is it important to pin/lock the cam then work from there, I'm pretty sure it was set from the crank end.
We think it all started with it trying to regen the dpf, it's had a couple of sensors then swapped engines because of the oil useage and large amounts of smoke out of the back
