I don't believe there is a proper fix in place yet for the recall. If the inlet manifold has degraded they are just fitting a replacement of the same type, which will probably last another 4 years.
Mine was replaced on 30th July and it is still plastic.
A better solution would have been to replace it with a different material instead of plastic, maybe aluminium.
