Now, as you have (Ive seen yer signature since first post) a euro 4 with dpf, your service fill is (for the sake of conversation) 6l because of fuel dilution. You are spending £130 for 2 service and doing 34k. By the time 17k comes, a large proportion of your engine oil is diesel, as such its highly compromised.
If you were to buy the Total for example, for £100 you get 3 service (plus top up oil), change at 12k before theres too much dilution and other degradation, and travel 36k... So, £30 less, 2k more, healthier engine! Just ave a think about that....
No additive is going to overcome the dilution, and I suspect your clatter may be down to dilution...

Where can you get that oil from and is it suitable for the later 2012 model do you know, I would buy 40l and change every 6,000miles. I already change every 6k, I am sure it’s over the top but it helps me sleep at night lol!
