Can I point out that winter tyres are just what they say, they are for use in the winter not just when it is snowing.

They should be used when the ambient temperature falls below 7c as this is when the rubber in summer tyres stops performing correctly and the winter tyre compound is effective.

It is a myth, which seems difficult to destroy, that winter tyres are for snow, they are good for snow - if they are marked as such and it is worth checking that they are marked for snow, many winter tyres are not designed for use a snow tyre
