Shrugged it off and started taking everything apart to replace that too...and of course I can't get that stupid bottom shock bolt out. I tried using an adjustable C-clamp - now it's no longer adjustable or even usable, tried using a rattle gun, an air chisel, a bit of heat, lots of pounding and penetrant, nothing. God I hate that bolt. I now have some heavier duty clamps in hand, I'm beating this beast tonight. There is no way I'm losing this battle.
Well I lost the battle with the lower bolt and am resigned to having to take the grinder to the bottom of the shock. New shocks on order. The good news is that my old ones were looking pretty tired anyway.
