The AWD version does have a larger DPF, but I imagine it fills quicker with the extra load from the drive train, with it being further from the engine too I would imagine it's harder to heat up and burn soot off.
At a guess I would also expect Auto versions of both FWD and AWD alike to fill up quicker due to the reduced output efficiency.
