Early red blocks and PRV have this set-up where electric fan is actually in front of the rad pack for vehicles with A/C
Later red blocks and all white blocks only have an electric fan that sits in the normal place behind the rad pack. This type of electric fan is 2-speed as far as I know and applies to vehicles with or without A/C.

D24's only ever have an engine mounted viscous fan, with or without A/C.
