had another look today and of course you're absolutely correct classicswede! Even following your description of where the g/box dipstick is I still nearly missed seeing it
a little more thought by Volvo engineers/designers and I reckon they could have got it even lower in the engine bay and impossible to get to rather than just being bleddy awkward!!
