I have also been in touch with Martin who owns the 164e.

I think Martin said he has no signal to three of his injectors. (As such it's a fueling issue rather than ignition). I am certainly no expert on d-jet, but from reading the above links posted above, it seems that wear in the fuel injection points inside the distributor normally causes over-fuelling - due to the injectors staying open too long. I.e. the opposite of Martin's symptoms.

I don't rule out some other fault inside the distributor, and it's certainly worth trying a good one. Another possibility is a break in the wiring to injectors. I have suggested Martin checks continuity.

Any other suggestions welcome
