Default MOT time

Can't believe it's come round so fast but the S40's MOT is coming up soon (its first one since I've owned it).

Asides the usual stuff a lot of motorists seem totally oblivious to checking at any time let alone annual test (all obligatory bulbs working, tyres, wipers and washers etc), is there anything I should look at specifically before sending it in? Tyres were new 2000 miles ago, I'm vigilant with bulbs and so on...

The rear discs and pads are low which I'll do before it goes in although it would probably pass a test anyway.

The engine seems to have a bit more movement in it than it used to, particularly when you switch off it's as though it rattles, how do you properly check engine mounts?

Reasonably confident for a pass!
