I have read Homer in translation.. always wondered how much of it was lost through using concepts that only work in one language. I've found the same thing with Chaucer - Anglo-Norman English has a richness of phrase thats totally lacking in the modern usage and unless you learn the origins of the words you lose half the meaning

I'll have a grill too if any are left unasked at this point and they become available. Thought I'd add that as we were meant to be discussing car parts...
