I had new top bearings about 5 years ago (30K) didn't really expect to replace again but will check. I don't really get noise when steering left/right but when the front end lifts/dips very slightly it creaks.

yep, good comparison
Mine was more like submarine creak but also it was audible when turning l/r on standstill. Fixed immediately when shock mounts got replaced.
