On my car (2010 R Design D3) I found nothing in the fusebox that was either live with ignition and off without, which I was "happy" using as some of them were in my opinion critical to the function of the car. Given that even the Puddle Lights are automatically sensed and power dynamically cut byt the car is the wrong bulb is put in, even the negligible load of a dash came "could" have some consequence. After 32 years in It and the fact that Volvo love their software controlling everything I picked up on the cigarette lighter wires in the tunnel and put an additional fuse in place with one of those 12 volt USB Power units from HongKong available on eBay.
