Yup, that's pretty much what it is; mounts where the dash 'speaker grille' or oem satnav normally goes. Had one just like it that I bricked by accident while trying to update Android versions on it. It was pretty crap and support was nonexistent.
I still haven't found a good solution that would mount where the oem satnav goes, but haven't given up on that objective. Kinda curious to see if it would be possible to retrofit one of the ones that are meant to fit on an XC90. Some of those actually look decent but might just be too large for the mounting spot on my C70.
