No worries . in short....Volvo models S60 and V70/ tyres make contact with arch liner on lock. And this is acceptable. I still would advise.
Turning to the issue of tyres cutting through the arch liner, this would be unacceptable and a RFR..I have never seen the arch liner cut through and would indeed fail it if the sharp edge was hitting the tyre. Most, well in fact all I have seen have evidence of scuffing on the liner. You are correct in terms of the stop locks if they were missing it would be a major cause for concern. I guess the issue here is one of the wheel type/ rim size and tyre type. Hope it helps. Sadly a lot of testers who have only recently qualified would not have seen the VSI's. It is ridiculous that it is no longer available on the new set up as cars such as those with electro park brakes can cause massive issues(damage) if not tested correctly.hope this helps.
