In London traffic I can go as low as 18mpg
On a 1300mile runs, loaded to the roof and pretty much dragging exhaust an inch above tarmac because of it, I can do 33mpg.
Record was when I was properly overloaded: 5 person tent, mattresses, sleeping bags, table chairs, roof box, bicycle, gas bbq+ gas..
London to Bordeaux area, avoiding motorways, and that was before French dropped the speed limit to 50mph. Something around 37mpg.
