Good Evening Josh.
I understand you are looking for your dads t5r.
Well i can confirm that i am the gentleman that has owned it for the last seventeen years.
I am afraiad however it is not for sale at any price. I do think from what i know about the car that your dad was indeed the first ownner. If he was i would be very interested in hearing from you to confirm this as it would put another piece in the jigsaw of the cars history and believe me i know much about it with its volvo press fleet days, magazine articles and tv appearance.
It would be of interest to me iif your dad still has any pictures of the car in his ownership or indeed any paperwork relating to it.I presume he purchased the car from ray chapman of Malton as i have a service stamp in the owners pack from 18781 miles on 13/12/95.I presume he did not own the car for too long as the next service was performed by Harratts of Huddersfield at 29218 miles on 1/7/97.
The car has been looked after during its life and has thousands spent on it to keep it that way so its not a rusty worn out relic.I think your dad would be very surprised. It has been loved and cherished over the years so much so only a few months ago volvo uk wanted it back for their heritage fleet at daventry.I turned down a lot of money for it.
I can tell you as recently as this last sunday 8th sept i was with a motoring journalist and photographer for an upcoming article featuring your dds car in Modern Classics magazine. As i type this i am not sure as to the date it will be published but will let you know as soon as i have any news.
i hope this is of some interest to you and would certainly be more than happy to talk to you on the phone.
Best Regards
Paul.
