Default Not so happy Chris Nott Ins Customer

I thought I would share my experience with this Insurance Broker and the claims process.

I took out a policy on my XC90 last September, unfortunately on 11/05 I had a minor shunt in a car park. Chris Nott has no involvement with the claims process, when you call to make a claim they check which underwriter you are with and put you through to them.

Spoke to three different "claims teams" 1st put me through to No 2. Team 2 informed me that I was not insured and my policy had ended over a year ago, finally team 3 found my policy and started a claim for me. I was advised that I can still use the car.

Their approved repairer assessed the car on Monday and confirmed it would be booked in and done in approx 4 weeks though hopefully 3. This will be confirmed on either 16 or 17th May.

I called this PM as had no contact too now be told the repairs will be in some 6 or 7 weeks in the future though may be longer. On pushing for a firm date was advised they will check their job list a hopefully will come back by the end of the week.

Rang underwriter back who has said I can try another of their approved garages, I am waiting to see what their lead in time is. I have also been advised now not to use the car until the repairs are done at whatever time in the future and I cannot have a courtesy car until mine is physically in the body shop.

I did ring Chris Nott to complain about delays etc only to be advised it's not their issue and I have to take it up with my underwriter. In essence we will arrange a policy, take our commission and then you are on your own.

Pretty poor performance. I had a claim several years ago and my then broker was more than happy to pick up some issues I had regarding the lead in time and assist in expediting the repairs.

I am unsure as to whether I will be renewing with this company. The quote was very reasonable but the claims process thus far has been poor.
