Refering to the wiring diagram, which i assume you have.
The LU solenoid is connected to terminals
A23 Brown wire & A26 Yellow/white.
These terminals are in the connector block 8/37a on top of the gearbox.
You need to separate the terminal block (unplug the block from the loom)
and using the meter on ohms measure the resistance between the two terminals, this should be 5.6 ohms.

well, well, i managed to take the front gearbox cover off today, and gess what?????? the wire to the LU solonoid wasent connected. it was on but not making contact, pushed it on untill it locked on firmly. now got ot put it all back. ill have to drop the subframe to get the cover on properly, with new sealing compound etc. big thanks to chris, hopefully its done, cheap fix, will keep you updated soon. the codes i had were LU solonoid, and faulty signal.
