Default Fuel Consumption

Its not every day that you see the words "940" and "Fuel Economy" in the same sentence. I can get about 400 miles out of a tank of petrol [when the light comes on for a bit]which probably equates to 26 or 27mpg which is how I have voted. The car is an 8 valve HPT GLE spec car with 160,000 miles. I reckon my car is one of the heaviest with 7 seats, glass sunroof, auto, cruise control, all the other bits and pieces and especially with me in it. Some of the later and lighter cars are bound to have the edge on our Grunhilda.
I have owned the car for many years and the fuel consumption has never changed much. I like the thought of zero depreciation and the fact that I can avoid dealers for nearly everything except for the aircon recharge, tyres and an MOT and then I go to independents. Why recycle something that is this cheap to run except for its little weakness for unleaded?
