I did it a few years ago, when I shredded a tyre late one night when driving from Skipton to Northumberland with our V70 and caravan.
The puncture happened right on the top of Blubberhouses moor, which is not the ideal place to break down, and it left me no option but to fit the space saver.
I fitted it to the near side front and carefully drove the 120 miles home.
I stopped a few times to check that the tyre was not overheating, and kept my speed down to the low to mid 40’s, which is not really much slower than the 50mph limit for towing on a single carriageway road anyway.
I can’t say that the car felt any different when driving on the space saver, and everything felt absolutely normal.
