I have done it a few times, it is annoying, but I know straight away, as I have the dials set to revs and not the tear drop.

As for damage, as said no damage, just if it was something done on a delay basis and driven hard cold, it will wear the engine faster over time.

in the Design Pro, you have flappy paddles so easier to change once in a fixed gear. I now when in Pure and want to accelerate quick with ice, just use flappy paddles it starts the engine straight away.
