I do get warm air from the interior heater as set when I turned of the vehicle once I disengage the remote start. What pray tell am I missing?

Nothing that's how it works, it does not run long enough to heat up, it will just heat up a bit quicker when on the go, the seats and steering wheel should be warm and screens clear but that's about it.
