A spot of feedback on the inlet manifold recall: my car shows up as an outstanding recall on the DVLA website and suggests I contact a dealer. I asked Volvo's advice line if I should contact a dealer now or wait for the "second letter" from Volvo (the first letter had a R29939 reference). He said I should wait for the letter, that they were being sent out now (as we all know) but that the longer I wait, the less likely it is that a dealer visit will be required. So either there was a batch of dodgy parts/procedures used in manufacture or the problem has somehow been addressed in the course of other repair/service work? Clearly the problem does not affect all 4 pot diesels made between 2014 and 2019.

Unlike some unfortunate members, my car has not needed an unscheduled dealer visit since I bought it in March 2018. I await my letter with interest!
