Several teeth at the bottom is still more than 1 tooth at the top.

I don't know the tolerance and I doubt that anyone does definitively as the outcomes you read are variable from little to no damage to replacement engine.
One of my YouTube viewers had the timing tensioner go. He described how it produced nasty metallic sounds but suffered no piston or valve damage.
A new camshaft, a couple of rockers and a few other bits and pieces were the fix.

True there's no loss in lining things up and trying but I think the OP should also be looking at why the AC belt let go in the first place..... seized compressor pulley possibly.
