Diesels have a silly high auto ignition temp (and you could hold a match against it or lighter and it would not go up). Jet fuel is kerosene which is the same (plus all the lines are innerted with nitrogen).
I do think that self oxidising battery’s and petrol is a lethal combination and that as they become common this will be one of their many limitations.
I will keep my diesel for now!
