Safest bet to me is to see a pile of repair papers with top brand names on it- if you can find AWD, front suspension and a bunch of wheel bearings repairs that's a good bet, manuals also fail at the salve cylinder. The XC60 sure is more modern, but I would worry about long term problems. They had a transmission problem (yes, Volvo did it again) and of course Volvo won't take care out of warranty - it starts first with a harsh engagement in D, later develops into full fault.
