A little update on the MOT this year, the tester entered 1992 instead of 1988 in the emissions analyser, so used the wrong program - easily done I suppose. The good news is that the Hearse is back, £50 of welding the exhaust up and an MOT later and there is another years ticket for sub £100, lovely! Interesting that we've only done 3054 miles in it in the last year.

The car is unsurprisingly quieter now that the extension pipe is sealed properly, and the over-axle pipe was also leaking exhaust gases enough to be an MOT fail apparently. More of a bonus is how much smoother and more responsive the engine is at low revs, idle and light throttle.

These are the 'failed' emissions before the exhaust welding, not much different from last years really and post-welding are likely to be improved.

I mentioned about thinking of engine swaps, and the owner was quite interested in what we may plan to do (seemed genuine rather than commercial 'interest') - they are part classic car specialists and seem to like the Hearse, so for techical stuff I may use them for parts of the project.
