Default cd changer

thanks everyone so far for your input.

I rang central services and they quoted £340 for new loading mechanism
The local auto electrical will probably make £60 on top if done through them
£800 would be for a brand new one.

Still feels expensive for the repair and will consider alternatives.

If it works, the lowest cost may be to switch internal cartridges from a like for like model. I can get a second hand one for approx. £120. I realise the risk here is that I don't know the extent of wear and tear.

Im told that when a cartridge from a different model is used, this may not work so I need clarification about whether the switch of cartridge from a like for like model would work?

I am still interested in alternatives. Looked briefly at the PURE DAB, but in my opinion does not look as neat as the normal display in the c70 and questions arise over am/fm line in, use of existing aerial. Not decided on this yet.

Im told there may be a clarion option but don't know of details yet.

The Delphi Ive not looked at yet. Not sure about the soldering. Will this work with the MOST system switched on as no local Volvo specialist will touch unless it does.
