Hi,

As reggit says if the tank is low then I would put a couple of gallons of petrol in first. There has been several posts where the petrol engine will not start until more fuel is added.
I had this happen to me several years ago when the fuel gauge was just above the red (strange it never happened again. Touching wood!). Put a can of petrol in the tank and it started first time!

I would of thought a faulty relay would show a loss of fuel pressure and I would expect the AA man would check the fuel pressure?
