Had a couple of hours spare tonight so took it off. It is now no longer on my car! Would have been quicker but it went dark!

Anyway - now that I've had a reminder on how it goes (this is for an s40 but I presume the v50 is very similar...

Take the bumper off (T25 Torx screws) - 2 screws visible when you open the boot lid, 2 underneath the bumper and 5 in each wheel arch (I had a couple of stubborn ones in the wheel arch and found the only way I get undo them was to tighten them a little which cracked them off - then undo them. Bumper then just pulls off

Bolt the two chassis reinforcing plates onto the chassis either side. There are 3 holes either side but they are already in use to hold the heat shield, exhaust etc in place so you undo those then put the plate behind and replace them.

Bolt the 4 main bolts to hold the towbar loosely, then put the other 4 in place. Tighten all. Feed electrical wire through to boot. Plug 2 connectors into the sprare two plugs, undo one connector from the rear lights - plug this into the tow bar wiring and the final plug goes into the light cluster.

There are a few extra steps for certain models so there are a few extra parts like a fuse etc.

Fingers crossed there will be everything you require.

I'll upload some pictures in a min, there is some surface rust on some of the parts as obviously it's a big chunk of metal getting sprayed with everything off the road. I tested the detachable part (as I haven't used it in a long time!) and it all worked fine although the lock was a bit stiff. I sprayed a bit of WD40 in and it worked fine but you may need to do this a few more times.

Once you've seen the pictures, let me know if you're happy to continue and I'll send you my details etc.
