The Mk1 S/V40 take some beating on reliability. Much more reliable than any of the mark2 ford era stuff. The smaller petrol engines ain’t to bad but again not a patch on the Volvo engine in the Mk1. Obviously the T5 and 2.4i are Volvo engines also in the MK2
