I don't think they are quite as bad as some people would say but they don't tolerate neglect at all, and they are nowhere near as reliable as the AW geartronic units.

Given that they are usually mated to the less desirable engines in the model line up (in the case of diesels anyway) I can't see why anyone would choose one over a geartronic?
