You may find that a 240 estate is close to 1450kg, I know there was a bit of a rework between the 740-940 but my 2.0 740 handbook states towing braked capacity as only 1600kg sounds a bit underrated to me.
Although my 2.0 240 is only rated at 1300kg braked.
