Finally got the bugger out! The ‘stat assembly is bolted to the engine with a T30 torx head bolt, you can’t see it so have to do it by touch.
Had to cut one of the pipes to the EGR valve which I still haven’t been able to free. Got it soaking in penetrating fluid.
Also EGR is fairly gunked up, what would people recommend whilst it’s in bits?
