In cases like this its just a matter of checking all things that are needed to run an engine all over again
But make a list in advance with EVERYTHING on it not just what you had disconnected.
Because of some rare non correlated faults wich can intefere and you are assuming working because you didnt disconnected them
-Meassure compression in the glowplug holes (if valve timing is wrong or the head is leaking badly you will know where to look for after the reconditioning
-Check every fuse
-Check the big ecu connectors
-Measure every connector sensor on resistance voltage with a reference sheet
-The railpressure regulator is an important one! If that one is failing the engine wont start even with a good pump!
-Check pre fuel pressure of the intank pump
